Question
Why a Christian Education?Our Response
Whether you are building a house, a career, or a family everyone will always tell you the most important thing is setting a strong, rock-solid foundation (Matthew 7:24-27). How would that be any different than with your precious own children? Throughout scripture, we are told over and over again how valuable little ones are to God and how we as His people should be training our children in His Word and community. (Deuteronomy 6:7-9; Matt. 19:4; ps. 127:3; Esph. 5:4; Proverbs 22:6 links) Kirkwood Christian has a unique history and mission that helps parents, just like you, partner with God, scripture, and a like-minded community of teachers, staff, and other families to fulfill His calling on how to raise the next generation in the light of the truth.
Christian Education versus Public Education
Christian Education versus Public Education
When asked why my family chose Christian Education over sending our children to free public school, I say we chose to invest in our children’s training for life and eternity. One of the first things that is always part of the conversation is the cost. Yes, Christian Education requires families to make sacrifices in their budgets and give up some temporary items to afford it. I know those are always hard choices to make. Christian Schools allow families to train their children with like-minded believers and partners in the faith, that not only is an investment in their education but also in their character and Christian Worldview. This becomes the moral compass with scripture application that guides them through life and in making every day decisions. When deciding to enroll our children in Christian schooling, we did not want to regret not spending the money to invest not only in a great education but in our children’s eternity as well. Matthew 6:21 – For where your treasure is, there your heart will also be.
