Our mission is to provide a system of education that lays the foundation for every child to become a success through the development of Christian character and academic excellence.
Our History
How We Started
In 1966, William and Connie Kirkwood acquired the Downey Child Care Center, marking the beginning of their lifelong commitment to a Christ-centered approach in raising children. Over the years, they developed the Kirkwood Program, expanded campuses, and collaborated with families and communities to spread their mission. Connie, while managing the preschool, pursued her role as a teacher and administrator, while Bill worked on facility improvements and his Doctorate in Education.
In 1972, they acquired the elementary campus, Kirkwood Educational Center, further shaping the Kirkwood Program, a curriculum and teacher training initiative. Today, Jennifer Kirkwood Hartl, their daughter, serves as the Head of School, continuing the family legacy of promoting a Christ-centered education.

Impact Children for Christ
It is our goal to collaborate with families in order to make a community of support and to ensure that each child entrusted to us can grow in the love and knowledge of Jesus Christ. It is our belief that each child can become a powerful instrument in the hands of the Lord in order to make this world a better place.
